Importing/Exporting Mail and Address Book in Outlook

I have purchased MS Office Professional 2003. I previously installed (still
installed) MS Office Pro 2000. I want to retain my 2000 programs initially
until I can see if I am happy with the 2003 edition. However, when I started
to install the 2003 edition, it said that I need to uninstall Outlook 2000
before I can install 2003. I cannot afford to lose my myriad email messages
and address book. How can I "save" them and import them once the installation
of Office 2003 is complete? Or, can I export them to my laptop and export
them from my laptop to my PC after installing Office 2003 on my PC?

I am in a dire situation right now, because I have a tremendous backlog of
projects that I am working on, and cannot afford to lose any data or have any
problems. My primary reason for purchasing Office 2003 is that Word (2000) is
crashing several times a day and MS no longer offers support for this edition.

Thanks in advance!

None of your personal files will be lost, but it makes sense to backup your
documents and your Outlook files. When you install Outlook 2003, use File,
Open Outlook data file, open your old pst that is on your hard drive and use
it. Import sometimes corrupts the file. It is better to uninstall Office 2000
and Off 2003 is a big improvement.

Repeat after me: "I will not export or import, I will not export or import".
