importing excel data problem

Hi

i have the following problem

i try to import an excel file in acces

i open a new table in a new access file
and then i go to
"archivo>obtener datos externos> importar" (that is file>get external
data>import")
i select the excel file

and a window tells me
"el componente ActiveX no puede crear el objeto" (that is The ActiveX
component cannot create the object)

what s going on?

help please
