Importing Excel data into Access

Hi,
I am trying to import an excel table into access 2003 using the get
external data link in Access. However, when I am going thorugh the
steps in the wizard it won't let me change the data type. i end up
having data type conversion errors for a date field. I download the
sp2 and still have this prob.

Any suggestions????

thanks!
maria

When you get the Link wizard dialog, click on Advanced and set up the data
types, field names, and whatever else you need there.

file format)] after the database name. why is this???

sorry, your original post had the work link in it, so I thought that is what
you were doing. No, you don't have those options with a plain import.
Are you importing into an existing table or a new table?
What are the errors you are getting?

The default file format for 2003 is 2000 format. If you want to change it,
goto Tools, Options, Advanced Tab and select it in the Default File Format
combo.
