importing eudora to outlook

C

Carolyn

I have eudora 6.1 on my computer.. and I want to switch to
using Outlook XP.. but.. the importing only lists up to
eudora 4.x and I can't import my mail.

Is there something I am missing? some component? is there
a way to work around this? If anyone knows, help is
greatly appreciated.

Eudora's email format hasn't changed in years. Using the Eudora
version 4 option will work to import you messages into Outlook, as
long as you point to your correct Eudora email message store.

Be aware, however, of a known problem with the Outlook import
function. When importing from Eudora, you will invariably lose some of
the dates/times of some of your messages. There is no known work
around for this problem. You may also see some HTML corruption, which
is apparently caused by Eudora, not Outlook.

In addition to what Rich says, there is also problems with mails that have
attachments. Eudora stores all attachments in a separate folder, unlike
Outlook that stores attachments with the message.
The answer is to make sure that all attachments have been saved to another
folder on your HDD.
