Importing ECCO v4.01 files to Outlook 2002 contacts.

Chris

I selected in Outlook 2002: IMPORT & EXPORT, IMPORT FROM
ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILE, ECCO 2.0-4.0, FILE TO IMPORT.
And received below error message;
=======================
A File error has occured in the ECCO 2.0, 3.0, 4.0
translator while getting the contents of a file system.

Time out! The ECCO Application could not find the file.
Try opening "C:\Program Files\ECCCO\RELATIVES &
FRIENDS.eco" and leave ECCO running before attempting
this translation.
========================

Next logical step was to check the MS Knowledgebase;

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 278077
OL2002: Error Message Appears When You Are Importing ECCO
4.01 Files to Outlook 2002

WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, turn off the shared option
in ECCO and try the import again.

I checked the Share settings in ECCO v4.01. And was asked
to configure workgroups etc.. So, it appears to me that
the share option is not active. However, I still receive
the above noted error message?

So, I arrived at a dead end! Does anybody know how to
import ECCO contact data into Outlook 2002 contacts? Will
appreciate help, thanks.

Chris,

Give this a shot: (1) move (a copy of) your Ecco file to the root of your
drive (c:\) and (2) rename it using 8.3 format.
