I was wondering if anyone has ever imported data from an excel spreadsheet
into frontpage? I have created websites with FP but do consider myself to be
a novice. What I am attempting to do is a create a directory (website) and
my data is stored in excel and would like to keep future data there as well.
Can anyone give me some direction?

What do you want to do with the "data' in the spreadsheet??

I want to create a directory type website (something like Dmoz.org) from the
data in excel. You would be creating a page in FP with a category for
"Business" and then you may have a subcategory of "Services" below that.
Each of these categories and subcategories would have lists of data (a
website and description etc).

You would need to save the spreadsheet as a html file.
But, it creates hugely bloated web pages.

It would be best to use a database application for what you want to do, depending upon which
scripting languages your host supports.

My webhosting plan is almost up (it expires in a couple of months) so I could
switch it if need be. Would you recommend a certain database application?

Which version of Windows and FrontPage are you using??
What server version and OS are you hosted on now??

Sorry it took so long to get the information. I am running FrontPage 2003
and Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES.
