Importing Contacts

I have a client that I am entering addresses to be imported into his Outlook.
The problem that we're having is that he wants them to appear "first
name/last name". I have tried a CSV file, made sure his settings in the
contacts options was file as "first name/last name" and show as "first
name/last name", but this didn't work. They did alphabetize by first
name/last name, but were appearing as last name/first name. I have entered
the names in my Outlook with them appearing as "first name/last name",
exported the file as a .pst, but when he tries to import, the names are not
importing. When I tested this option on my end, the names did import without
a problem. There are too many names for it to be an option for him to go
into every single one and change the file as option to first name/last name.
There has to be an easier solution, but I'm stumped. I'm using Outlook 2002
SP3, he's using Outlook 2002, SP2. Thanks for any help.

Those settings will not apply to imported Contacts. Only to those created in
Outlook.
Why are you entering addresses in another format and importing them? Just
enter them in Outlook.

I am a virtual assistant, and therefore, am working in a different location
than my client. I do not have access to his computer to type the contacts
directly into his Outlook. So I need to be able to email him a file that he
can import into his Outlook.

Yes, I am running Outlook. Even when I enter the names in my Outlook, export
the file, email him the file, and he imports the file, they are still coming
up as last name/first name (they are right on my end). We've tried different
formats and none have worked. I exported it as a personal file folder (.pst)
and then did a "test" on my end. It imported right, but on his end that file
is not even importing.

Of course. That's what I said. That's because you are importing and
exporting.
Why are you doing that? You aren't changing file formats.
Just create a PST and send it to him. Have him open it in Outlook.
Stay away from the import/export menu!

I sent him the pst file and he got it, opened it, and everything was
fine. Now, how does he incorporate it into his contacts list that he
already has set up?? If you can do a step by step, that would be
great!!

Open the new COntacts folder. Select the first item. Press CTRL-A to
select them all. Right-click the selection and choose Copy (or Move).
Select the main Contacts folder as the destination. Click OK.
