Importing contact list from Excel

H

Humbert

I'm trying to import a contact list from excel
to "Contact" in Outlook.
1. I ranged all the cells in Excel that I want to import.
2. I went to Outlook, I followed the instructions in the
import wizard. The resault was that all the field were
imported with the exception of 3 of my fields.
What I noticed is that 3 of my missing fields were no
present in the Outlook list of fields in the Map Custom
Fields window. I tryed to includ my 3 fields beside the
User 1, 2, 3 field without success. Can some body tells me
how to create new fields in the Map Custom Fields.
I will really appreciate your help because I need this
work done ASAP. Thanks again. Orlando

You cannot import custom fields.

As Milly answered - you can't automatically create new fields when importing
via the Outlook Import engine. You can however do that with either of our
products (link below) but one caveat to that is - these would only be
created as "text fields" if you did not first create these new fields in the
first contact in the folder. At that point - you could define them as
required and the data format would be verified on import.
