Importing Address cards so they are First Name then Last Name

Hello,

I've used the Import feature several times but have a client that wants his
Address Cards to be First Name, Last Name rather than Last Name, First Name.
I know you can go into each Address Card and change them individually but is
there a way to import them (csv) so that they are First Name, Last Name?

Thanks Much!

I figured it out! If you have the First Name Last Name in a field and then
Map it to the Last Name field in the merge it works.

Just remember that user preferences for name formats are not applied to
Contacts that are imported. So getting this to work will vary from situation
to situation. Often time, you will not be able to get what you want for name
formats when you import and will have to run code after the import to reset
things the way you want.

Good call, thanks. Have you had folks that want the business name to appear
and then their last name, first name on the Address Card? Is there a way to
have this merge correctly on a regular import merge from Excel?

There is no way to control how derived fields will behave with an import
unless Karl Timmermans has figured one out.
