importing address book (contacts)

Does anyone know how to import my address book (all email address set up as
Contacts) to another Outlook 2003 email account/profile. Have been trying:
Open/Outlook Data File, and Import, retreiving my exported/saved .pst files,
but the address book won't import into my new email account.
Thank you!

Outlook has no address book. Your data is stored in Contacts Folders.
Do not import them.
Just open the PST file that contains the Contacts and copy them. If you
can't then you will need to post the reason you can't and how you created
and transported this PST file. Ensure you are opening the correct PST file.

1. I opened the outlook backup folder and it asked me what program I want to
use. I went to "select from list" and selected MS Word. It wouldn't open.
There was no selection for "Office" or "Outlook".
2. Why shouldn't I use "Import"?
Thank you for your assistance.

No, you did not open the "outlook backup folder." You must have double
clicked it in Windows Explorer. That won't work.
There is only one way to open an Outlook Data File. Use Outlook > File >
Open > Outlook Data File.

When data already exists in Outlook's native format, you have no reason to
import it. Importing just loses or misdirects data. Importing is for
bringing other file formats into Outlook. If you already have an Outlook
file, just open it.
