Importing a video to movie maker

Hi
I have recored a video utilizing Hitachi dzmv730a camcorder which utilizes
mini dvd-r discs. Once I finalized the disc and put into my computer windows
media player automatically runs the video. If I open movie maker and try to
import it from my d drive it seems not to reconginize that there is a movie
on the dvd. I know there is deffinately a movie on the disc since I viewed
the movie through media player. Is this even possible to do?
