Importing 2003 .pst file to 2007

I have exported my Outllook 2003 data in Personal Folders to an external hard
drive and imported to a different computer running Outlook 2007, using
instructions from Microsoft Help & Support. The data file is on the new
computer in C/Documents & Settings/my name/local settings/application
data/microsoft/outlook - shows as Type:Microsoft office outlook personal
folders.

Why hasn't it imported into Outlook so I can see the emails and other data
in Outlook when I launch it? How can I do that?

Exporting and importing is not needed at all. Simply transfer the original
pst-file and connect to it by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
