Imported picture bullets cause PowerPoint crash

I have imported a PNG image to use as a picture bullet but after adding to a
few slides it locks up PowerPoint - this happens in both 2002 & 2003
versions....is this a known problem?.... I can't use bullets after ending
PowerPoint task manager without rebooting the PC...
 
May I ask, how large are the images. (File size.)

Haven't heard of this one before, but

- How large is the PNG file? In pixels if possible.
- What if you open the PNG in a bitmap editing program and save as a BMP then
use that instead?
