IMPORTANT! Those with storage drives(ie.CDRW) reading as SCSI and not recording!

Please remove the nForce chipset driver (go to control
panel -->Add Or Remove Program ), reboot system and
install chipset driver again. When you install the
chipset driver, you may see "SW driver...", please
skip it and don't install it. I got this solution from
the Chaintech support address and it cleared up my
problem in about 5mins. Just for the record, I spent
countless hours and 3 newsgroup posts trying to fix this.
TRUST ME, IT WORKS GREAT!

Dear Don

Could my problem be the same? I have a SM_308B Samsung
Combo Drive. It reads fine, but when trying to record on
RW or R, the drive does not recognise the disk at all. I
am running XP home and have tried an OEM SW and get an
error message Device Error 1022.

I've tried your fix but have no nforce chipset driver in
the Programme list. Any advice welcome.
