Compromise? How about a link and a brief description? Since the ng has now
'grown' to include all sorts of posters (some apparently not interested in
sharing
anything constructive)...one must now wade through tons of trash (headers)
instead
of the regular posters who used to post here. Frankly there are some
posters I
just skip...the majority of them! Worth reading: Gordon, Susan, CoMa, John
Corliss,
Chrissy Cruiser, Q, and two or three others. Other than that, there's a lot
of chaff
in many of the posts. I don't conisder the OP 'pompus' and 'dictatroial' at
all. Many
people are still on dial-up and pay by the minute to download. So out of
consideration
I don't see it as asking too much. Also, since there's a lot of stuff now
that is NOT
freeware....NOT FREEWARE, thus shouldn't be here, but that is not the case.
So
out of consideration for others, I don't consider the OP's requests off
balance.
