When I try to import anything into my access 2000 data
base, the import wizard does not come up. An hour glass
appears and it says at the bottom of the screen that the
import wizard is running but there's nothing on the
screen. I am running Access 97 and 2000. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling and making sure everything
was included in the installation. I also tried to run
a "detect and repair", but I get an error message
that "this installation could not be opened. verify that
the package exists and that you can access it or conact
the application vendor to verify that this is a valid
Windows Installer package. I tried downloading the latest
version of windows installer and it still gives the same
message. Anyone have any indeas? I'm running W2K SP3,
with Office 2000 SP1 and Access 97. Thanks

Hi,

Sounds like you might be experiencing a similar problem to what is outlined
in:

292269 ACC2000: Unable to Import Excel Spreadsheets and HTML Files
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=292269

To resolve the problem try the following:

1) Search the machine for accwiz.dll;regsvr32.exe
2) Drag and drop the accwiz.dll onto the regsvr32.exe
3) This file should register successfully
4) Test the import wizard again.

Hope this helps!

Thank you,
Janet Chisholm
