Import Spreadsheet Wizard - Urgent

Attempt to import Excel Spreadsheet into Access 2000. Thinks for awhile and
nothing happens or displays. On the bottom right hand corner it says Import
Spreadsheet Wizard, however no wizard displays. Any suggestions.?

I'm having a related problem - after upgrade to WinXP from Win2k, Access 2003
won't find the Import Wizard at all. Perhaps this second message in the
thread will stir some response.

This usually fixes this and similar problems:

If the import/export wizards don't work at all, or if you get "No object
in this control" re-register ACCWIZ.DLL.

If it's one or more file formats that aren't listed, re-register the
following files
msexcl40.dll (Excel)
msxbse40.dll (dBase)
mspdox40.dll (Paradox)
mstext40.dll (Text, CSV, tab-delimited))
In Access 97, the filenames contain 35 instead of 40.

To re-register a DLL file,

1) Locate it (usually all these are in the Windows\System32 or
WINNT\System32 folder.

2) Locate the file regsvr32.exe.

3) Drag the DLL file's icon onto the regsvr32.exe icon.

Thank you, but it didn't work. I got accwiz.dll, msexcl40.dll, and
mstext40.dll all to re-register but it still reports "Microsoft Access can't
find the wizard...." when I try to import a table (.csv or .xls - I haven't
tried anything else). I double-checked Help|About|Disabled Items - "There are
no disabled items."

This isn't a familiar problem. Have you installed the current Windows XP
and Office 2003 service packs? If not, that's the first thing to do.

Thank you. That worked... after a certain amount of hair tearing.

I removed Office 2003, installed XP's SP2, reinstalled Office2003, and
installed its SP2. The import wizard then worked fine... but the workstation
could no longer find the laser printer on the server (sigh!) - after a couple
restarts of both machines, it finally all came together.

(BTW, why is it that even though I click the "Notify me of replies" box
below, I never get notified? How is the notification supposed to arrive?)
