Import selected columns Access < Excel

Hello,
I need to import selected columns from Excel 2000 .xls to
Access 2000 table. The column headings and data in .xls
match the table specs, but other columns/data do not, thus
the need for the partial data import.

Easy enough to do for complete .xls, but not so easy when
only some columns from the .xls are needed.
Anyone know?

Are you using the import wizard? In the import wizard when you get to the step where you set up your field options, click on "Do not import field (skip)".
