Import from Outlook 2000

I am attempting to import outlook address book, e-mails, settings and
calendar from Outlook 2000, but Outlook 2007 will not allow me to import the
..pst file. Any suggestions?

This is much too vague to work with. What happens when you try?

Instead of importing use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
 
I have exported the information from Outlook 2000 on a computer running XP
which is networked with the computer running Vista to a shared documents file
and attempted to import them from there. I am able to bring the .pst file to
the desktop of the Vista computer, but my attempt to import the information
into Outlook 2007 does nothing at all. Likewise using File->Open->Outlook
Data File->, the computer thinks about ift for a few seconds and nothing
happens.
 
Don't use Export on the WinXP machine either. Directly copy the original
pst-file and connect to it on the Vista machine.
