import export error in translation when trying to do either

I have installed office 2007. Prior to that I had the trial version.

Every time I want to import or export contacts or mail when I click next on
the wizard, it gives
Internal error in translation

I can not open the import export options
 
Why would you? That's never the correct way to transfer Outlook data. Just
open your Outlook data file.
To repair your import functions, use the Office Maintenance Wizard.
 
I fixed by finding the MRI32.dll or related names renaming them as old and
then running the outlook maintenace
