import data causes "sql server does not exist"

Yizhaq Shmaayahu

Dear all,
I connect to my Sql Server 200 via an XP adp.
I log on as SA.
I can do anything except importing data. I can create, change design, and
delete any table or any database object.
When I try to import a table or paste a datasheet I get a sql server error
6: sql server does not exist. A sql server logon window reapperars, and
gives the same error.
I turned my firewall off .
Please answer with any suggestion.
TIA,
Itzik

Did you make use of the Refresh command before trying to import your data?

Is the target table for the import have an Autoincrement column or another
column which cannot be directly modified, like a TimeStamp column?

And what is the connection string or the OLEDB provider that you are using?

By the way, it looks like that Access 2002 ADP has a lot of problems since
SP2 for WinXP; maybe this is related to your problem. If you have access to
Access 2003, you should give it a try.
