Hi,

Is it possible to import backup.pst files from Outlook to Windows Mail?

Thanks in advance.

Within Mail, File>Import>Msgs>Outlook
Thats assuming by backup you simply mean somename.pst

You can only directly import .pst files into WM if Outlook is installed on
the Vista computer.

Otherwise, on a computer running XP, Outlook and Outlook Express, import the
Outlook messages and contacts into Outlook Express, copy the .wab & .dbx
files to the Vista computer, and import them into WM.

Note that in addition LD's instructions, you DO need to have both Outlook
and Windows Mail installed and setup on the machine doing the transfer.
Windows Mail cannot open an Outlook .PST file by itself, it requires Outlook
to be present and uses Outlook's MAPI "plumbing" to gain access to the .PST.
