import address book from a file on cd

I cant import my address book from my old computer onto my laptop. I put the
file on to a cd.

Copy the file (pst or csv file?) onto your HDD, remove the Read-Only
attribute and try again. If it's a pst file, don't import, just open it and
then move the contacts into your contacts folder.
