Chkdsk/F was forced to run. It found about 500 errors
and fixed them all. But now many applications say "can't
run because IMM32.DLL is missing.".

I found IMM32.DL_ on the XP CD but don't know how to
expand it or where to put it.

Hi Denny,

Start/run msconfig, click on "expand file" (general tab)

File to expand: imm32.dll
From: X:\I386
To: %windir%\system32

Where X is whatever letter is assigned your CD drive, change it accordingly.
Reboot when finished.

I think it is fixed. I copied IMM32.DL_ from the CD into
the Windows directory, then typed EXPAND IMM32.DL_
IMM32.DLL Now the programs seem to be running.
