My emails sent from my 'imap' account
are copied to the sent items folder in the personal folder.
Why they are not copied to the sent items folder of the
'imap' folder?

Sent Items are always stored in the delivery location's Sent Items folder.
If you want Sent Items stored in an IMAP folder, you have to use a rule to
copy them there when you send and disable the option to store all Sent Items
in the Sent Items folder.

what does really "delivery location's sent items folder" mean??

The delivery location is the data store listed at the bottom left of
Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next for Outlook 2002/2003

I'm not quite sure how to do this. I know there are probably a
thousand sites that say how, including Microsoft's, but the one thing
they leave out is how to have it marked read when it goes to the sent
items folder. How do I do that part?

You don't.

Actually, I do. I just have to do it manually. My question is how to
automate it. Is there a way to write a script or any other way?

I don't know of any way to automate it. Perhaps you can find something
suitable at http://www.outlookcode.com/ or by asking in the scripting
