I am using an Exchange server, a desktop with OL2003 and a Vista Laptop with
Windows Mail....

When I'm out of the office, I use Windows Mail (IMAP) to do my e-mailing.

What I am finding is that (unlike my previous laptop with OE) when I delete
a message in WM, it isn't deleted from the server.

I've experimented the other way by deleting a message on OL2003 and it's
instantly removed from the Windows Mail IMAP account.

Any suggestions to get WM to delete messages from the server?

Thanks,
Paul

Okay - Didn't think it was an exchange issue because OE didn't have a
problem.

Thanks...

Purge Deleted Items doesn't work? Also note that Outlook 2003 supports IMAP
accounts, so you could use it instead of WM when out of the office. You
might want to ask your Exchange Server folks if they've enabled RPC over
HTTP; with this, you can use Outlook in Exchange Server mode from anywhere.

I've always used OE (and now Windows Mail) because it handles multiple
accounts better AND newsgroups.

If OL2003/2007 handled newsgroups we wouldn't need WM/OE...

I'll check on the RPC thing....

No, purging (emptying) deleted items doesn't matter. The message is never
moved from the InBox - just hidden in the Inbox and copied to deleted items
on the WM side...
