IMAP Email Account Folder Location?

When I create a POP3 email account it uses the outlook "Personal Folders"
location. When I create an IMAP email account it create its own root folder
and folder structure. Does all IMAP account not use the "Personal Folders"
area?
 
No, IMAP uses its own folder root.
