not be established imap.googlemail is now in offline mode. Can anyone please
resolve this issue for me as it happens everytime I use Outlook 2003 although
I can access my email links to online webpages, however I can't add folders

Thank you Diane
I had configured my imap according to the google configuration instructions
for outlook 2003 however I finally resolved the issue by adding a POP3 email
account, now all my email send / receive works efficiently and Outlook no
longer goes offline. "If you can't go through go round."

Do you have the acct configured correctly? Review the configuration in

You say that you have configured according to the gmail instructions, yet
"imap.googlemail" is not the name of the IMAP server. Did you just misspell
it for the account name, but spell it correctly for the server name? That
should be OK, but the correct server name is imap.gmail.com

I did put the server names in as googlemail and not gmail because in the UK
they can't the name gmail due to copyright issues. I've now changed the
server settings to gmail and it seems to work fine.
