While setting up my home network and setting up the Print
Sharing I noticed I have about 3 or 4 "printers" listed
on the work group for my XP machine ready for sharing
that don't really exist. I can't seem to find a way to
get rid of them as there is no Delete function and since
they don't exist I can't "unshare" them.

Any help yould be appreciated

Have you tried going into "Printers and Faxes" and simply deleting them?

XP is capable of auto-discovering (shared) printers on other networked
computers and listing them as available. This is probably what you're
seeing, especially if their names start with "Auto".

That's the rub, they aren't there. They aren't printers
that are installed on my computer, and yet when I browse
the workgroup all the computers, including mine, insist
that there are 3 extra printers installed... and they are
all called Printer (with 2 and 3).

Printers aren't always 'real'....they can be virtual as is the case of a PDF
Writer, a MS Office Image Writer etc.
