Images time out before fully loading

IE attempts to download every image on the page at the same time, and times
out after a very short period. I am on dialup, but this used to not happen.
IE would load just two images at a time, and fully load them without timing
out before moving on to the next. Now, howerver, every image (it seems at
least) is trying to download at the same time. I cannot say when this
started happening either, so I do not know if it was an installed program
that changed a behaviour.

Now, I just edited the registry, specifically the MaxConnectionsPerServer
entry, so that it would again only download two items at a time before moving
on, and it seems to work, however, it still has a very short timeout life,
perhaps 30 seconds, which means that a graphic-intense page is filled with
lots of half-completed images.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. If I need to clarify, just let

Hi Benjamin

Try cempying the Temporary Internet Files:
How to Delete the Contents of the Temporary Internet Files Folder

Delete view off-line files not the pages File, Save as.

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab>then scroll down to
"Multimedia," it should be towards the bottom of the window. There should
be a field that says "Enable Automatic Image Resizing". Uncheck this.

See these two articles and then set your Registry to only allow two. This
is IE's default and if it's different it is because some one or some program
changed it.

Hi Jan, thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I had already emptied
the Temp folder, and have always kept Resize turned off. While IE <i>is</i>
only downloading two images at a time now (due to my reg mod), I am
experiencing the time-out problem.

were not addressing my problem unfortunately. I have modified the registry,
and while it does force only two files to download, large images are still
timing out in the middle of being downloaded. So, still no luck Thanks

Frank, aha, they did not appear in your previous post. Well, after checking
them out, they did prove that the edit I previously made to the registry was
correct, however, this is only half of the problem, and one that has been
solved. Thanks again for your efforts in this situation.
