Images / Pictures

All,

I have to store some huge pictures in an ADP project.

The current needs are :
A small version of the image (ca. 100 Kb at most)
A High-Res version (ca 3Mb, not depending on the hardware used to take the
picture could go up to 30 Mb at least)

I need to do the following :
- Generate the smal image automatically when the image is inserted.
- Display the picture properly
- Be able to resize it (whether in size or in depth)
- Be able to export it to file or attachment
- Be able to insert it as an embedded picture in a Word document.

The pictures will be probably JPG originally, with the High Res pictures
being TIFF.

The small images will be displayed as preview when the record is displayed,
allowing either the preview or the original images to be used.

Ah, yes a future need will probably be to have a calibrated picture to be
stored also, to be able to print it with accurate colors.

Any ideas on what kind of controls should I use or where I could find some
help to deal with the required coding (books, web site, consultant as a
last resort) ?
