Images from Word

Richard

I am using FP 2003. I have an image that was sent to me
in a Word Document that I want to use on my Website.
Initially I cut the image from the Word doc and pasted it
into FP. This seemed to work Ok and looked good when I
previewed the page and also when i looked at it in the
browser. Unfortunately when I uploaded it I just got a
blank square with a red cross in the corner. I thought
that this was because FP could not find the image and it
was not an image saved for the page. I then tried to get
the image from Word and paste it into Paint so I could
save it as an image rather than as part of a Word doc but
the quality of the image when it had been transferred to
Paint was not good. Why does this work in my previews but
not when it is uploaded?
Thanks for your help.

I recently had a customer who constantly sent me all manner of "graphics" in
word docs. lots of word art/ tables for design etc.

I found the best way to deal with it was to simply take a screen shot of it
with my graphics program to get the image infront of me in a legitimate
graphics app.

Hi, Richard. Try opening the Word file, then saving it as a .html file. This extracts the images from the Word file into a subfolder where you save the .html.

You'd be better off with the original image that was put in the Word document,
open it in your image editor and from there, save it as a jpg, import it into
frontpage then insert it in the web page, save and then upload the page with the
image.
