Hi Guys
I have put an image on my website which I copied from google. Now how do I
make sure that I am not breaching any kind of copyright law.. This image is
freely available on the wem but just for my Website's security, I am al ittle
bit concerned..
What are your thoughts guys??

Cheers

Hi,
You mean it's one of Google's images or you found it in a Google search? In
general any image on the web is copyrighted meaning you can't just take it
and use it - unless the site containing the image actually says it's free to
use.

Whether the owner of the image will actually track you down and take action
is another question ;-)

Cheers,
Jon

Hi Jon,
Haven't seen you around in a while. Do you still have those menu behaviors
up on the web?

Hi Jon

Well to be honest I just did a google search and copied that image my
website! Is there a workaround??

Thanks

If you didn't create it yourself, then it's someone else's copyright and you
should ask if you can use it unless it states somewhere its open to free
use. Always assume it's someone else's copyright.

Thanks Jon,
who knows maybe someone will do it and pass their mods back to you.
FWIW; a guy who makes and sells a desktop app to create DHTML menus spoke
highly of this:

IMHO that one is worthless
It is100% JavaScript so it does not work w/o JS and is not SE friendly
- your friend obviously doesn't understand the web (-;

Nonsense, the menu itself is an HTML list - the javascript just controls the
flyouts. Try viewing this page
http://www.dynarch.com/demos/hmenu/examples/vertical.html
with script disabled and see what happens - still usable and spiderable.
It's actually quite a good product.

Cheers,
Jon

I don't think you're looking at the right thing.
BTW; the guy is Xavier Flix, the creator of DHTML Menu Builder:
http://software.xfx.net/

here's a better example of the dynarch menu in action:
http://www.bazon.net/mishoo/ but get this; it's busted in IE 7! maybe I'll
have to rethink my recommendation...
