Hi All,

Can someone please advise how to restore the default behaviour for jpegs to
'appear' as images rather than placeholders ??

WinXP SP2, PPT2000.

Thanks,

Neil

I'm not sure of the exact problem you're seeing, Neil.
In PowerPoint 2002 the default behavior of inserting a picture was to create a
placeholder for it - a nasty, brutish thing to do to a poor unsuspecting user.
<g> That was corrected in 2003; in 2002 you could use Tools, AutoCorrect
Options, Autoformat tab and remove the check next to "Automatic layout ..."

But none of this applies to 2000, so fill us in a bit more.

Thanks Steve,

When dragging .jpg's from explorer and dropping them onto a PPT slide, the
dropped image presents as a
placeholder. There are a significant no. of images to be placed in the
presentation and going through the
menu structure will be time consuming...

Note that if I use the (long winded) menu structure approach to insert the
picture, it displays correctly.

Hope this assists...

Drag/Dropping images into PPT2000 and some other versions can create other
problems as well. I'd avoid it.

If you've a lot of images to import, see:
