Image Problem: Help: MVP please

Why does WindowsXP consistently associate images "Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer" I tried to associate it with ACDC32 but when I double click an image
MS Windows Picture viewer takes over.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Because the default action for images is to preview them. If you right
click on an image you'll notice that the first bold option is Preview,
followed by Open. If you select open the image should open with the
associated application.
