Thanks.

Windows XP has always been able to read DVDs...
It seems the above patch gives you the ability to write to DVD as well...

What is the make/model of your DVD writer?

I got an HP 640.
For what I had read, this will NOT let you write to the DVD, because
ONLY programs were created using that Library, will be able to do so.

Thanks.

You could always write to DVDs using third party application in Windows XP -
so I am trying to figure out what it is you are trying to accomplish?

That was the question.

I got a free program that so far is doing good with cds & dvds too.

But since Microsoft put out that Dynamic Link Library for XP based
on the Image Mastering API from Windows XP, they should put out
a new Windows Explorer or Patch, so Windows XP and NOT
a 3rd Party program, can write DVDs.
