Image files do not print in handout mode

Using Windows XP & PPT 2002. A presentation created on a MAC, with some slides containing image files, does not print the slides in Handout mode w/3image per page. The images show up blank with a small box containing an "X"
The presentaion works fine in SlideShow mode. It is only as a thumbnail image that it does not show up. Even in Print Preview the image is not there. On our Windows XP with Office 2000, the images show up & print

Preview the image is not there. On our Windows XP with Office 2000, the images show up & print.
