image caption in powerpoint

in powerpoint, is it possible to get the image name to appear under the image
as a caption. the images are already inserted into the slideshow but i need
to find out the name of each image and to have it on the slide

There is an option in the PhotoAlbum feature that allows you to insert
captions. I do seem to recall that PPT will insert the document name
automatically as a caption.
But if you do not use that feature I do not think that it is possible in
PowerPoint, you will have to draw a textbox put the name in and position it
under the image.
To find out the name of an image, apply an animation to the image, the file
name should show in the Animation Task Pane.
Also you could save the presentation as a web page. PowerPoint will create a
folder with all the used files in it. In that folder you will find your
images with their original name.
