Image build directory \DriveD

Anybody ever see this?
I tell target designer to put my build image in c:\XPeImages and it writes
the four root files (boot.ini, NTDETECT.COM, ntldr and WERUNTIME.INI) in
c:\XPeImages and then writes the three directories in C:\XPeImages\DriveD\.
Still works, I just have to copy the files differently to D:
Even if I setup a different directory to write them to, I still get a DriveD
subdirectory

I am setting it up the way I have seen it in every book where they talk
about using two partitions. We have had several machines setup this way and
they don't all have the same error.
Just an observance.

What error?

I thought that this behavior was direct result of build made by Target
Designer.

"Error" in that it creates a subdirectory under the actual directory that I
tell it to deposit my image.
If I tell it to create an image in C:\Image Target Designer writes the four
root files (boot.ini, NTDETECT.COM, ntldr and WERUNTIME.INI) in C\Image and
then writes the three directories in C:\Images\DriveD\
I never request a DriveD directory anywhere and I can't seem to find this
"Phenomena" documented.

This is not a error, not even a phenomena it is intended behavior.

Open in central panel settings.
Target Device Settings in right panel.

Set boot drive to D:
Also set all Windows Folder etc to D:

Then all files will be stored in root of C:\Images.

If you tell XPe to use C: as boot disk.
Then files in C:\Images should go to root of C:.
And files in C:\Images\DriveD should go to root of D:

Also read article from link that I have provided you in previous posts. And
then you can use C: for all fields in TD.
