I'm new - how do I install a downloaded font on XP?

Hi. So far I have been using Apple Macs, but because my children like
playing games, I have bought a secondhand Dell and am using the
opportunity to learn to get around Windows. Just for the crack I have
downloaded a few fonts and want to add them to the fonts resource on my
Dell. But despite using the Help facility etc., I still can't work out
how to add them so that all my word processors can call on them. (As
far as I can see, the Help facility only tells you how to make already
installed fonts availabe.) Anyone care to set me straight?
Patrick.

Open "C:\Windows\Fonts"
Drag the fonts there and they are installed !!

If you do this often :
Click Start > Run
Type "%userprofile%\SendTo" (Including quotes)
Right click New > Shortcut
Type Fonts
Click Next
Name it > Click Finish

Next time you want to install a font, just right click > Send to > The created
shortuct name
