I'm Back with More Question Patrick..

uh don't lick your monitor screen - you could short out.

Hi there & others:
Well it seems like I have this set up ok now BUT I have just one little
problem and not sure what is doing it for I've checked all setting and
nothing seems to Help.
Here's the problem.. I've lost some Icons on desk top (just the icon) the
name is still there and when I lick on the icon (where it should be) the
program loads.. Not all icons are like this. Also Some games on a different
drive are not showing just a BLACK square. Mike have to format that drive as
well and reinstall but thought I'd just with the experts here first.. Anyone
have some Ideas on what is up ..

your icon resolution is sub-par to your display resolution. rebuild your
icon cache - select higher resolution icons.


rebuild your icon cache: get tweak UI for your operating system, and drill
over to "rebuild icon cache" selection

select higher resolution icons: you can increase the resolution of your
favorite icons (and micro-manage icons) using: Microangelo

This may not be necessary, Lightnen. Check that your color depth
setting on the Settings tabs in Display Properties is set to a high
enough level. AIR you were using a 9600 of some flavour: you should
have no problems with it set to <True Color (32 bit)>.

Then go to the Effects tab and see if <Show icons using all possible
colours> is ticked. If it isn't, tick it and reboot. If it is,
untick it, reboot, tick it and reboot again.

Well what can I say,, ITS WORKING NOW.. LOL
Did quick format again and only did what ATI recommended the 1 package..
NO drivers that MS said I needed. Had a bit of a problem with card setting
but after a few trys it seems to be holding. Had the biggest problem is that
my MB (K-7 Sem/SiS 945 with Duron proccessor) doesn't seem to be supported
my ATI which never occured to me. The monitor looked like I'd install a
veneishen blind in it and when I tried to go to Norton to download their
updates it would start to down load then shut off monitor. But with a few
changes it seems to have loaded properly now.. Oh I did findly use the 4.3
Cat. files and then 6.1 panel Anyways not sure if this is a right set up BUT
works for me here now. So again Thanks there Patrick for steering me in
right Direction oh and others for there suggestions (4.3file) can't remember
who you are now for my news server didn't save any of my earlier posts.. LOL
