illegal xp version

Someone installed a volume licensed version of xp professional on my
computer. Now I can't upgrade it with the service pack 2. I have a licensed
xp home edition cd that I want to install. How do I uninstall xp professional
and reinstall xp home??? I can't uninstall it from the remove hardware
section!!

You'll have to format the partition that XP Pro is installed on
and perform a clean installation of XP Home Edition. Make sure
you back up all the files you want to keep before beginning
this procedure. Also, make sure you have all the CDs and keys
for your software.
