Illegal upgrade

HELP!! I loaned my pc to a friend, and he upgraded my
licensed Windows XP home, with a burst/busted? copy of XP
Proffessional that he downloaded from somewhere. I want
to get this illegal software OFF my computer, but I don't
know how. I have tried to uninstall Windows XP, but
nothing happened. I tried to reinstall my XP Home, and
got a message that said "not an upgradable path" or
something like that. I have an etower 766id computer
with 256mb of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bruce, thanks. I was afraid I would have to do this. I
have a different friend who's going to take a look at
things this weekend and see what has to be done.
