IIS HELP -- NEED ASP SERVER

Jonathan

OK heres my problem. I had lots of versions of windows (Win 3.1, 95, 98SE,
ME, XP Professional) and now XP Home. It seems that practically all of the
versions of Windows are compatible with a version of IIS, in short, a sever
that will allow you to use ASP for free. Windows 95, 98, and ME are
compatible with IIS 4. Windows XP Professional is compatible with IIS 6.
Windows XP Home has none because you cannot download IIS 6 off the internet,
cannot copy it off the Professional Machine, and I tried IIS 4 for Win95,
and it's not compatible. The other versions of IIS are for NT. My guess is
that one of the NT versions would be compatible, as XP was built on the NT
kernel. But which one?? I have listed the defferent versions for NT that it
gave me:

- NT Server 4.0 for Intel (x86)
- NT Server 4.0 for Alpha
- NT Workstation 4.0 for Intel (x86)
- NT Workstation 4.0 for Alpha

Which one, or, if none, then would someone pleaze tell me where to get a
free web server for Windows XP Home Edition that supports ASP??

Note that I am really trying to get the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack which
contains IIS 4. It is found at this website:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/recommended/NT4OptPk/default.asp

I fairly certain none of these will install on XP home.

There are some horrendous hacks floating around the
internet to install IIS 6 on home, but they are so truly
ugly I'd not attempt it.

Your best option would be to upgrade to XP pro.
