IIS and Winnt

I upgraded to XP Pro from WindowsNT. I installed IIS and it is not working:
"localhost" cannot find the .asp files. I get a " file not found" or it
simply hangs. Could it be because my window files are in :Winnt instead of
:windows ? Or can you see another reason ?

Control Panel, Admin Tools, IIS Management.... did you actually TELL the IIS
where to find the website(s) and what the homepage of the site is called?
