IIS and FP03 problems

Hi, I was cleaning up my system and decided I didn't need FP2K anymore as I
am getting used to FP03. I uninstalled FP2K, but then when I opened FP03, I
got an error message that drive M: was invalid (I may have had my CD drive
as M: when I installed FP03), then when FP03 loaded, and I tried opening a
site on localhost and it said that the server was unavailable. I have
re-installed FP03 and checked the settings in IIS (5.1) and all looks fine,
rebooted IIS but still the trouble.

Any ideas?

And where would the config file be so I can change the reference to the CD
drive if I change my drives again?

I may be wrong, but I beleive FP2003 has a repair mode.
Putting the CD back in may allow you to repair/restore a file that was
inadvertantly deleted during the removal of FP2002. Must be one of those
shared files that got deleted.

Just a guess... but a simple try to do.

Reinstall the FP2K2 (XP) server extensions or install SharePoint. There are
no FP2K3 server extensions, as MS is moving to SharePoint, but FP2K3 will
use the FP2K2 extensions just fine. That should solve the localhost issue.
If not, get into IIS and right click on the main root and go down to all
tasks. There is one task there for server extensions, once they are
installed.

Not sure about the M drive issue, but a mapping could be the issue.

Hi, Thanks for the responses. I fixed it!
For future reference: I did a repair on FP but there was still the same
problem. I reinstalled the IIS and FP snap-in in MMC and FPMMC but that
didn't work either. I finally found my 2002 server extensions install file
(fpse02_x86_ENG.exe), ran that then did a repair and it worked!

I'm up and running again!

That is good news. I'm no expert but I have heard others say that the
extensions your computer and the server that is hosting should be the same.
The file you listed below does not include the service pack (depeding on
what type of OS your running).

Just something to keep in the back of your mind. If it's working, I
wouldn't change a thing.
