If you have lost/forgot local admin password read this

A number of requests in this group seem to relate to people not knowing or
forgetting the administrator password for a system, whether it be a Server
or a Desktop. There are several third-party applications that can assist
with this task, but they are often very costly. Fortunately there is an
alternative, that is free and to date in all the times I have used it, I
have never had one failure. I recommend setting the password to blank using
this tool and then upon first log on with the blank password changing to
something more secure.

The program in question can be found at:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

In the course of my job I have found this tool invaluable. I normally use it
on machines where the bright spark of a user (Normally a developer) has
removed the machine from the domain and then remembers that he changed the
local admin password as well!

Follow the instruction implicitly and you should have the same success rate
that I have had.

Hope this helps.
