I have a laptop on a workgroup set up as a pop3 account using outlook2003.
I have filled in all the information correctly yet i receive a invalid username or password error when hitting the send/receive button. The error i get is
Outlook 2003 error 0x800CCC92 "invalid user name or password"
If i click test account settings it passes.
If i set the pop3 account on outlook2007 on the same computer i get the same problem but if i click test account settings it fails on connecting to incoming server.
I keep being prompted for a network password for the user which i type in yet it fails again.
I set the pop3 account up in outllok express and it works fine.
I log onto OWA and it works fine.
The username and password is correct!
If the user logs onto a machine that is on the domain and sets a pop3 account up it works fine.
If another user logs onto his machine and sets a pop3 account up on his machine it gets the same error!
This machine was recently taken off of the domain as he uses it elsewhere and this is when the problem started.
I have posted this problem several times but no replies so can someone out there please help a newbie?
