If Linux is so Bad, Why is Microsoft so Interested?

Who said A=B? Not even close!

When linux has something equivalent to AD that can integrate into our ERP
system, even then they have at least another 10 years before A=B.

Hit harder? How do you figure? Vista costs the same as XP when it came
out.

Once you factor in pay raises over the last 5 years, Vista is CHEAPER then

The price MS charges OEMs is absurdly low. Or do you actually think
that $400 Dell would cost $200? If that were true, why don't Dell's
Linux boxes cost substantially less that their Windows boxes?

Hum...no answer. Not surprising. I've wondered this myself. Even though
they need to facture in support charges the actual machine should be a great
deal cheaper. Even Lindows boxes three years ago started out at $300.

You assume it's genuine. MANY MANY MANY people have paid for illegal
installations/copies of XP. I've even seen bogus hologram discs. Your
friends REAL problem is with that computer store.

1. You don't know what store it is. I do. It's the largest computer
store in Europe.

2. When we reinstalled Windows, it activated and became genuine. We did
not install the FLAWED WGA/N program. Oops.

Get your facts before you start accusing stores of piracy.

Interesting thing, though, Windows doesn't have Arabic as a keyboard
layout option and Ubuntu does. We had to install Arabic with the GENUINE
XP disc.
