If I remove and re-install Outlook 2002, do I lose my e-mail?

My Outlook 2002 e-mail is suddenly not retrieving e-mail in my POP3 account,
although I can retrieve it via Yahoo and on another computer with the same
settings. It appears that I need to remove and re-install Outlook. What
will happen to my exisiting e-mail and contacts if I do that? Do I need to
save them to re-incorporate into Outlook when I re-install it, or is that
done automatically?

Uninstalling doesnt impact on your data files, however rarely does it cure a
problem.
Are there any err.msgs?
What happens if you test the account?

Uninstalling and reinstalling shouldn't touch your Outlook data, but it
likely won't solve your problem, either. What happens when you click
Send/Receive?
